Seth Guillen began his classical guitar studies at the age of 24 with Findlay, Ohio guitarist Dave Phillips. After a few months Seth began to work privately with Dr. Matthew Ardizzone who, at the time was running the classical guitar studies at Bowling Green State University. At this time Seth auditioned and was accepted into BGSU as a performance major where he studied for one year before transferring to the University of Akron to continue his studies with renowned pedagogue Stephen Aron. While at Akron Seth was engaged in multiple mixed chamber ensemble performances ranging from guitar and voice/flute to trios with guitar, violin and cello. In addition to chamber work Seth completed three solo guitar recitals of new material each time, one each as a sophomore, junior, and senior. Currently Seth is enrolled at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville Tennessee pursuing a master’s in music performance with Dr. Stanley Yates.
